Jalori pass trek
Jalori (pronounced as Jalodi) pass situated in Karsog valley is a mesmerizing trek. The view from Jalori is breath taking and you will witness good landscapes and snowfields. Trekking across this route one can view fascinating places like the Sereolsar Lake, Shoja, Lambri, Sakiran, Bashleo Pass and the Great Himalayan National Park as well as the forts of Raghunathpur, Kalagarh and Fatehpurgarh that offer endless options to the explorer.
Situated at 10,382 feet above sea level the Jalori Jot is usually accessible only between April and December. It receives as much as 20 feet of snow in the winters.Sharing few pics of my trek.
The Jalori pass is starting point for two easy and exciting treks, and is highly recommended for nature enthusiasts. One has the option of going beyond Jalori Pass to see Fort & A lake which are 3 & 5 kms in distance from there.
Getting There
From Shimla, the route is Shimla > Narkanda > Sainj > Luhri > Ani > Jalori Jot. [Distance: 205 Kms; Travel Time: 5 hours]
The road from Narkanda to Ani is narrow but mostly in decent shape. Buses ply on this route but cars with low ground clearance will find it challenging as some stretches are not pukka road.
From Manali, the route is Manali > Aut > Banjar > Ghiyagi > Shoja > Jalori Jot. [Distance: 160 Kms; Travel Time: 4 hours]
The road from Aut to Ghiyagi is narrow but mostly in decent shape.
Jalori Pass trek is an awesome trek where you can witness good landscapes, snowfileds, Naggar castle and end on Jalorri pass i.e. 3223 meters, if you follow the same route you can also trek upto shimla and Manali. The view from Jalori pass is breath taking, astonishing and atmosphere filled with fresh oxygen.
